A busy news week!

This week is filled with important news! While we have some great stories to bring to your attention, North Carolinians (and many in other Southern/Eastern states) are focusing our attention on a bad winter storm. You are either anticipating it or are in the middle of the storm.

I hope you have electricity! Pray for each other through this storm and pray for the public service workers who are trying their best to help all of us. Pray for those who serve as police, fire personnel, EMS teams and other emergency workers. Pray for those who are working outdoors to repair the power lines. Pray for disaster relief workers who volunteer to help a lot of people in crisis times.

If you are homebound in the storm and you have electricity please let the Biblical Recorder’s website bring you up to date on some very important news items. This week’s Biblical Recorder may arrive at your home a few days late due to the winter weather, so be sure you see our lead story. The annual Evangelism Conference is going to be a home run this year! Please read this story, circle the date, reserve the day and be at Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh on Monday, Feb. 24!

Following last week's National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., much has been written about the president’s speech. Religious liberty is a core value of Baptists. My perspective is in this week’s editorial. Read it here. Watch for more stories on the subject of religious liberty. This is not a small matter.

Be safe this week!
