Last week’s ERLC Summit was a very significant event for Southern Baptists. The Biblical Recorder posted several stories about the event
because we strongly believe "People need to know!"
Baptists especially need to hear, ponder, pray and take action to remove racial attitudes that are inconsistent with scripture. Take time to read these important stories this week
as you celebrate the living, resurrected Christ.
People also need to know about many other major items in the news. That’s why we do what we do. We want to keep you informed on issues that matter so you will be prepared to face the battles of life from the perspective of a biblical worldview.
Last Sunday morning I was honored to preach two Sunday morning services at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church in Angier. Pastor Timmy Blair was overseas and was gracious to invite me to share God’s Word with his congregation. As you know, Blair is the president of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. If you don’t know him well, take time to read this story I wrote about him soon after he was elected at last November’s convention.
Many call it Easter. I call it Resurrection Sunday. But Christians don’t celebrate this just once each year. We celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ every Sunday – in fact, every day! Every day we are physically alive, believers are reminded that we are spiritually alive because our savior defeated death. Yet it is still a very important to annually reserve this special time to focus on the power of the resurrection to defeat sin in us and in this evil world. Victory is ours! Celebrate!
Remember to give generously – super-generously! Super-size your gift to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions and you will be super-blessed to see many unreached people coming to Christ because of your faithful giving. I hope your church will exceed the goal.
