Pray for SCOTUS justices by name

Franklin Graham and others recently issued calls to pray for the justices of the Supreme Court of the United States by name. The Bible calls us to pray for those who lead the nations of the world. A short-term reason to pray for leaders is for peace and order to prevail. But the ultimate reason is so that others will discover the truth of salvation in Christ and be converted. Paul wrote, "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth"  (I Timothy 2:1-4, NKJ).

I want to help you pray for the justices of the court. Their names are:

John G. Roberts, Jr., Chief Justice of the United States

Antonin Scalia, Associate Justice

Anthony M. Kennedy, Associate Justice

Clarence Thomas, Associate Justice

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice

Stephen G. Breyer, Associate Justice

Samuel Anthony Alito, Jr., Associate Justice

Sonia Sotomayor, Associate Justice

Elena Kagan, Associate Justice

Click here for biographical information on the justices that will help you learn more about each one. I hope this will help you pray for them more effectively.
