Practical blog for ministry leaders

Chuck Lawless is a professor of missions and evangelism at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. His 19 years as a seminary professor – 16 of those at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary – and 14 years as a pastor in Ohio, gives him a unique perspective on ministry in the local church. On July 1 he launched a new blog for church leaders – pastors, staff, lay leaders, missionaries, seminarians and more! Last week I interviewed Lawless so our readers can hear his heart for the blog.

Read the story about chucklawless.com and visit the site frequently. You can sign up for regular notifications of new posts. I believe you will find a lot of very practical, helpful and encouraging material from Lawless and other writers.

The Obama administration reached a nuclear deal with Iran. Did you hear any news about American pastor Saeed Abedini who is imprisoned in Iran? There was nothing reported, leaving us to believe the president has abandoned Abedini and three other American hostages. Obama promised Abedini’s wife that he would make Pastor Saeed’s release a "top priority." Violating his word again, the president left this U.S. citizen to suffer beatings and torment in one of the world’s worst prisons. Pray for Abedini. Congress still has a voice in the nuclear deal with Iran, so pray that Congress will not abandon Pastor Saeed. Pray that they will do what is right.
