Billy Graham statue returns to N.C.

I am excited to see the Billy Graham statue returning to North Carolina. It was originally unveiled in Greensboro in 2006. I served as chairman of the SBC Committee on Order of Business that year and worked with SBC president Bobby Welch through the process of planning and presenting the bronze statue to the messengers.

Dr. Graham always blushes over recognitions of any sort, but especially something as tangible as this. I believe this honors God more than it honors a man. The front of LifeWay’s headquarters in Nashville, Tenn. has been the bronze statue’s home for about 10 years. Now LifeWay’s Ridgecrest Conference Center near Black Mountain will be honored to display the 7-foot replica of this great Baptist evangelist. To God be the glory for the phenomenal way He has anointed and used Billy Graham in the proclamation of the gospel worldwide.

If you are not able to travel to St. Louis next week for the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting, the Biblical Recorder’s staff will be there for you. Watch our social media feeds on Twitter and Facebook. Also, visit BRnow.org often for stories about events relating to the pastors conference and convention proceedings. A live stream of the event will be available through sbc.net from Sunday evening through Wednesday afternoon.

Pray that many will hear the gospel and respond to Christ through Crossover St. Louis this Saturday, June 11. God always uses this ministry to change many lives for eternity. Pray that God's hand will be on all of the meetings in St. Louis.
