Pastor sleeps on church roof!

In this week’s edition of the Biblical Recorder we reported the story about Mark Perko, the pastor of Deep Creek Baptist Church in Wadesboro, who challenged his students to raise money for Sole2Soul ministry by the end of the church’s VBS week. If they met their goal, he promised them he would sleep on the roof of the church. Guess where he spent the night? Way to go Pastor Mark! I hope all of our readers will enjoy this story and find creative ways to challenge our churches in generosity.

Do you have a VBS story to tell? Please share your Vacation Bible School stories with the Biblical Recorder. It doesn't have to be a long story – just one that tells how the church is sharing the gospel and reaching your community through VBS. Email me as soon as you can! Thank you.

A few weeks ago I listened to Kyle and Jenny Roland as they shared their life story with me. I wrote their about their journey and the call God has put on their hearts to be the first immigrant Montagnards to be sent from North Carolina as missionaries of the gospel to another Asian nation – the Philippines. As you read their story, pray for them. You can contact them through their home church, First Baptist Church of Matthews.

I hope the information diet of your church family includes the Biblical Recorder, the BR app, BRnow.org and the BRweekly. It is our ministry to help your church grow stronger by providing news and information from a biblical worldview.
