On Mission!

Churches and people are on mission! That seems to be the theme of this week’s printed edition of the Biblical Recorder. It is packed with encouraging stories of Christians and churches that are impacting their communities and the whole world with the gospel.
Two of our staff, Liz Tablazon and Seth Brown, wrote stories about the overseas ministries of Mercy Hill Church in Greensboro and Calvary Baptist Church in Bangkok. Seth’s story is the third in a series of articles from his recent trip to Asia. As you read these stories, we hope you will be motivated to fulfill God’s calling to be on mission where you live. Share this with your church family and friends on social media.
Recently, I met with Mike Chandler, pastor of Summit Church in Morganton. Three years ago the Biblical Recorder ran a short article about the church merger that created Summit. But there is more to tell about this very successful blending of a traditional church and a contemporary church. I asked Chandler to share the church's story with me so I could share it with our readers. Honestly, there's much more than I was able to include, but I hope this will encourage other churches to become more effective in their community by merging with another church. It might be just what your community needs.
Continue to pray for disaster relief teams in Texas and the people they are serving. Check BRnow.org regularly for updates about these ministries.
Thank you for allowing the BR staff to serve you and to strengthen your church family in the faith.
