'Must see' Bible museum

The long anticipated Museum of the Bible is now open in Washington, D.C. The museum is the subject of the front page story in this week’s edition of the Biblical Recorder. Although we posted this story on BRnow.org last week and highlighted it in last week's BRweekly, the immeasurable value of the project warrants emphasis in print, also. In short, we want readers of all ages and all backgrounds to hear about this museum and plan to experience it soon.

The Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby, invested a large amount of their personal earnings into this $500 million project. Others have added their generous gifts to make the museum possible. This is an impressive, high-tech, quality museum that focuses on the written Word of God. There is nothing like it anywhere in the world.

There is no charge for admission, but you must make reservations for your visit. When you go, don’t expect to see it in a few hours. Plan for a full day! In fact, if you spend six full days at the museum, you will still not be able to see everything. It has so much to offer. I hope the Museum of the Bible will become the most visited site in our nation’s capital.

As I mentioned in last week’s BRweekly, Sunday, December 3 is the first day of Advent and the launch of the week for prayer for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO) for International Missions. I hope you are preparing to enjoy this Christmas season to the fullest. Experience the whole story of the first coming of the Savior to the world as you celebrate Advent. Experience the power of the Christmas message as you give generously to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to every tongue, tribe and nation of the world. Support the LMCO with a whole heart this year.

Speaking of Advent, one of our N.C. Baptist lay leaders submitted a guest column to the Biblical Recorder on the subject of Advent. Please read J.R. Parks' column here. Thanks for sharing this with our readers, J.R.

One more word -- did you see the ad at the top of this email? If you're able to get to Southeastern Seminary this Saturday, don't miss this event!

Thank you for your support of the Biblical Recorder! We appreciate you.
