My prayer trio this week

Three ministry matters are at the top of my prayer list this week. First, North Carolina Baptist Men, or Baptists on Mission, have a popular annual conference this time of the year. This Friday and Saturday, April 6-7, hundreds of Baptists will converge in the facilities of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte. It’s always a time of celebration, worship and spiritual growth for mission volunteers, mission leaders and church leaders. I hope to see you there, but even if you can’t attend, will you pray at least one time for God’s hand of blessing to rest on the speakers and attendees? That one prayer will be multiplied through the lives of disaster relief volunteers as they serve and share the gospel in critical times of need all year long.

Second, pray for Executive Committee (EC) of the Southern Baptist Convention. EC chairman, Stephen Rummage, announced a called meeting for the group in two weeks. They are charged with finding the man God has chosen to replace Frank Page as the CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention. This is a huge task. Pray that God will minimize the influence of those who think they know God’s will, and that those who humbly seek God’s direction will emerge with results that please Him.

Third, pray for those who attended church last Sunday and heard the gospel for the first time. I pray that pastors were very intentional to share a clear gospel message on Easter Sunday. I pray that guests were warmly welcomed and that they heard the truth about eternal life through Jesus the Messiah who arose from the grave for their salvation. I pray they will return to church services again this Sunday!

Thank you for supporting the Biblical Recorder. Pray for us also! (That’s a fourth request.)
