Conference to highlight '7 Churches of Revelation'

The 2018 North Carolina Pastors’ Conference will feature seven sermons covering the seven churches addressed in chapters 2-3 in the book of the Revelation. In this week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder, Marty Jacumin launches the first in a series of seven articles about these churches – each by a different writer. Conference president Matt Capps hopes the series will draw our attention to the message God gives to churches of every generation and prepare us for the conference. Reserve the dates November 4-5 on your calendar and attend the conference in Greensboro’s Koury Convention Center. With a strong lineup of preachers, the meeting promises to address vital issues in New Testament churches. For more information, click on the Pastors’ Conference ad above.

Also included in this week’s print edition are two stories about technology’s influence on our lives. These interesting perspectives should not be overlooked.

Last Sunday I filled the pulpit for pastor Scott Davis at Pitts Baptist Church in Concord. The church wisely granted him a sabbatical. Scott said the time is passing quickly, but it has been a good learning experience. I hope more churches are weighing the benefits of giving their pastor extended time away, beyond the usual vacation. The church ultimately benefits.
