Celebrate freedom & SCOTUS decision

Without question, the big news of the week is the Supreme Court’s decision on the Hobby Lobby case. But, we need to realize the story is not complete. There are many matters that the decision did not cover, and we will be reporting on those important elements in the Biblical Recorder and on BRnow.org. Stay tuned!

The liberal spin on the court’s Hobby Lobby decision has been shamelessly exploitive and highly deceitful. To hear the talk from the White House and political spin machines, you would think the court’s decision means Hobby Lobby hates women and wants to dominate their health care decisions. I don’t remember a recent issue that’s been more shamelessly propagandized like this one.

There are two facts you are not likely hearing: Hobby Lobby doesn’t have the power to do what some say they are (or will be) doing. Second, if they did have the power, they would not want to. The company’s lawyer says the owners would love nothing more than to stay out of women’s birth control decisions. There are scores of facts that are being ignored, including Hobby Lobby’s generous personnel policies, and there are scores of fairy tales that are being shouted from the political rooftops.

Be alert! Deny the deceit, and discover the truth.

Since this is 4th of July week, let's celebrate! I hope my editorial will help you celebrate with a clear perspective on the value of our freedom. I have written about the 56 men who signed our Declaration of Independence. Please read it and share it with others.

More than anything else we do, we can heed the many calls for prayer. The National Day of Prayer website has joined Anne Graham Lotz in a call to prayer.  Join thousands of other followers of Jesus Christ across our nation and around the world, as together, we return to the Lord our God, repent of our sin, and cry out to God for His mercy on behalf of our nationbefore it’s too late!

Also, the national OneCry movement is calling for focused prayer in July.

I hope the stories in this week’s Biblical Recorder and at BRnow.org will encourage you to walk in God’s perfect will. Subscribe to the print edition or the digital edition (or both). The digital edition is a full replica of the print edition. Subscribe today so you will not miss anything!
