Last week North Carolina Baptists grieved the passing of a very influential expositor of scripture. The Biblical Recorder has provided our readers with multiple stories about Kenneth Ridings, including this tribute from his pastor, Greg Mathis, that compared Ridings with John the Baptist. Mathis’ full message and the messages of others can be viewed on the website of Mud Creek Baptist Church, Hendersonville.
North Carolina Baptists are privileged to be the home of some premier ministries. Among them is the pioneering work of North Carolina Baptist Men (NCBM), also know as Baptists on Mission. This organization is a leader in disaster relief, international partnerships, medical missions and many other mission strategies.
A few weeks ago I sat down with Richard Brunson, executive director of NCBM, and discussed their expanding work. Some of our conversation is highlighted in this story, published in this week’s edition of the Biblical Recorder. If I told the whole story, it would take all 16 pages of the Recorder, and then some. Please read the story and pray that many will continue to come to know Christ through the ministries of NCBM.
Also, be sure your calendar is marked for the NCBM annual missions conference, April 10-11 in the facilities of Calvary Baptist Church, Winston-Salem.
Finally, pray and give generously to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions.
