Backbones here

I have the great privilege of speaking in many North Carolina Baptist churches. As you might expect, each of these churches is unique and represents a very wide variety of sizes, cultures, ages, styles and heritages. I am amazed at the special way God is working in all of them. It makes me want to glorify God with overwhelming praise.

Since Sunday I have been preaching revival services at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in King, N.C. This is one of the many churches I call a "backbone" church. Congregations like Mt. Olive have a rich, rural heritage of faithfully shining the light of the gospel for generations. Pastor Carl Goodman and associate pastor Randy Storz are "backbone" men who stand strong for the truth of God's Word and lead the church to faithfully support Great Commission work around the world. I have been encouraged by the faithfulness of these men and the Mt. Olive fellowship. Thank you, brothers and sisters, for your partnership in the gospel!

Are you planning to attend this year's North Carolina Baptist Men's (and Women's) annual missions conference? Register today for this great gathering April 10-11 in the facilities of Calvary Baptist Church, Winston-Salem.

As we approach the excitement of our resurrection celebration, we also share in the excitement of the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. Let's do it! North America desperately needs hope. The only hope is found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
