Historical course set for marriage

The Supreme Court's decision on gay marriage set broad boundaries for defining marriage for the first time in the history of the United States. The Biblical Recorder is covering the stories as fast as they roll out. I hope you are reading everything on BRnow.org relating to this historical decision.
My editorial this week speaks to the severity of the court's ruling and reports the comments of some Baptist leaders. Share these insights with your church family.
Rit Varriale is the pastor of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby. He has a great passion for biblical truth and religious liberty. This keen pastor stays informed on the biblical and cultural issues of the day and takes a bold stand for eternal truth. This Sunday morning, July 5, he will preach a sermon titled "God Before Government." Following the service, the congregation is to gather around a newly constructed flagpole and raise the Christian flag above the American flag as a statement of their faith. Varriale said, "We’re just doing this to honor our Lord and as a testimony to our community that serving God is our first priority."

Read the full story about the flag raising service and the witness of Elizabeth Baptist Church in this week's Biblical Recorder. Consider joining the movement.

Have a safe July 4th celebration!
