Pray for each other

Tom Elliff, former president of the International Mission Board, reported the passing of his wife, Jeannie, yesterday. Tom posted on his blog, "Jeannie is home! Hallelujah!" She had battled cancer for 9 years. Pray for the Elliff family, and honor her life with an extra gift to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.

Pray for the Bethlehem Baptist Church family in Taylorsville. Read the story about a fire that destroyed their worship facility last Saturday. There are many reasons churches need the prayer support of sister churches. Certainly the loss of facilities is devastating. But so is the sudden loss of a pastor or key church leader. Some churches are struggling financially. Most are dealing with plateaued or stagnant attendance. Churches need prayer as they search for a new pastor or staff associate. Churches that are growing need prayer. All churches need prayer in the current cultural environment. In your daily walk with God I encourage you to reserve time to lift at least one sister church to the Father in prayer.

Did you see the banner below that points you to the Reasons to Believe Apologetics Conference on Saturday, August 1 at 7 p.m.? The Raleigh area event features two top apologists in Frank Turek and J. Warner Wallace at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. The Saturday night service will be well worth your time. If you are not a leader in your home church, maybe you can attend the Sunday sessions, also. Click here to learn more.

"Finally my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is NOT in vain!" 1 Corinthians 15:58
