Ten years ago a life changing storm blasted the Gulf Coast, imposing incredible damage on Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and a portion of the Florida Panhandle. Hurricane Katrina’s devastation reshaped cities, families, churches, businesses and ministries.
Your Biblical Recorder
staff wanted to capture the impact of the storm through personal stories. Seth Brown, Dianna Cagle and I listened to some of those who lived through the storm and ministered in the aftermath. We tried to record their experiences for your edification. We believe you will appreciate their stories and the lessons learned through Katrina. Read the story of First Baptist Church, Gulfport here
Beyond the four states that were damaged, God raised up Baptists from many other states to come alongside our brothers and sisters on the Gulf Coast. North Carolina Baptist Men (NCBM) were among those who invested tens of thousands of hours, untold dollars and overwhelming compassion to bring healing and hope to those in Gulfport. Read the NCBM story here.
Please read this week’s editorial
