Important season!

This is the most important time of the year for us. No, I’m not referring to March Madness and the NCAA Basketball Tournament. The spring season pinpoints our celebration of the resurrection of our Lord, usually called Easter. Of course, believers celebrate the resurrection every Sunday. The early disciples moved their weekly worship from Saturday, the traditional Sabbath, to Sunday because Jesus arose from the grave on Sunday morning. Many call it "the Lord’s day" to emphasize the living Jesus. We have more reason to rejoice than any religion in the world! He is risen!

Easter Sunday is more than three weeks away, but Southern Baptists use this month to underscore the powerful work of our North American missionaries through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) for North American Missions. This week, March 6-13, is the week of prayer for these faithful servants. Give generously to AAEO and pray for our North American missionaries. Pray for all of the staff at the North American Mission Board.

You probably saw the news we posted on BRnow.org last week about J.D. Greear. The pastor of The Summit Church in Durham will be nominated for president of the Southern Baptist Convention in St. Louis on June 14. Read the full story here and watch for more stories about this important annual meeting of Southern Baptists.
