180 years of ministry

Thursday, January 17, is the 180th anniversary of the Biblical Recorder. Please take a moment to read my editorial in this week’s edition in order to get a more complete perspective on our history.

I want to ask you to please support your Biblical Recorder as we work hard to consistently produce material to assist you in your Kingdom calling. We really want to encourage and enhance your ministry for the glory of God.

Throughout the 180 years of our history the Recorder has covered issues that are personal, theological, social and political. The scope of coverage has ranged from the mission of local church to international missions.

Sometimes our headlines have called people to prayer. Such is the case with this week’s front page story about Tommy and Peggy Lott, who want to complete the process of adopting a Russian child.

Other headlines have reported the results of effective ministries through one of our churches or through a ministry such as Baptist Men, the Baptist Children’s Homes, IMB or NAMB.

We hope every story you read contributes to your personal spiritual growth and encourages you to be a strong, faithful member of your local church. Because, we believe the local church is "ground zero" of all Kingdom work. Together, I pray we will "...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" Ephesians 6:10.

Thank you for your support of the ministry of the Biblical Recorder!
