My editorial in this week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder
raises some important questions about the "news diet" of your fellow church members. All of us feed on some kind of news source. Most depend on some type of national media sources. It may be cable news, mainstream network news, newspapers, web sources, radio or social media sources.
Many of these sources are increasingly called into question for their accuracy, fairness, balance and professionalism. We are naive if we think the people in our churches are not impacted by the news they take in. Some of the news we absorb is wrong, and frankly, some of it is just evil. I believe this is hurting our calling to be Great Commission Christians.
Please read my editorial. I always welcome your opinions and perspectives, so feel free to share your thoughts with me.
The front page story in this week’s print edition of the Recorder carries Liz Tablazon’s report from the recent Send conference in Dallas, Texas. This was the second of NAMB's three Send conferences this year. The third will be in Orlando, Fla. July 25-26. The very popular conference has facilitated a wave of new church plants across North America. I believe it is having an impact on church revitalization movements, also. As you read the story, consider going to the final Send conference – but you better register soon. The event is almost full!
Pray for the 2017 Pastor’s Conference and Southern Baptist Convention meetings in Phoenix. Pray that God will be glorified and many will come to know Christ as personal Savior through these gatherings.
Thank you for allowing the Biblical Recorder to be your partner in the Great Commission!
People really need to know! They really do!
