Phoenix convention advances SBC ministries

Last week’s Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Phoenix was quite an experience. Outside it was HOT! But, inside the convention halls it was cool, encouraging and exciting. There were some tense moments of uncertainty, but when the dust settled, the messengers had taken decisive action on significant issues. Did I mention that it was HOT outside? It's great to be back home in North Carolina!

I hope you have been following the convention news we are providing you on BRnow.org. Watch for a lot more to come. Next week’s print edition of the Biblical Recorder will be packed with news and information about the Phoenix meeting that is important to the Kingdom work we do together. I hope everyone in your church is getting the Recorder. It will encourage them to see how their Cooperative Program gifts are winning people to Jesus around the world, planting new churches in pockets of lostness, and training the next generation of pastors, missionaries and church leaders to take the truth of God’s Word to the ends of the earth.

If you’re not in the habit of regularly attending our annual convention, why not plan to go to Dallas, Texas next June 12-13? Plan a vacation along the way or in the Dallas area. I believe you’ll enjoy the fellowship and the powerful learning experience that overflows from each convention.

Thank you for reading this edition of the BRweekly. Here's an idea. Why not offer everyone in your church a subscription to the free BRweekly. You might be surprised to see how God uses it to strengthen the fellowship! Let us know how we can serve you better.
