Easter weekend tragedy

The senseless bombings in Sri Lanka over the Easter weekend brought grief to the hearts of Christians around the world. As we celebrated the resurrection joy that is ours through Jesus’s victory over the grave, hundreds of people entered eternity – perhaps without knowing God’s gift of eternal life. It’s another reminder that every second of the day, someone faces the end of life without hope.

The gospel is the only hope for mankind. Jesus said no one gets to heaven – no one will see the Father – except through Him. There are no other options. We must obey Jesus’s last words to take the gospel to the whole world beginning in the mission field where we live, our Jerusalem. Other mission fields must also be part of our obedience to the Great Commission.

Pray for believers around the world who live in perilous communities. Just as Satan tried to keep Jesus from obeying the Father, he is still working against believers who follow Christ today. The forces of evil would like to stop us from sharing the gospel with our neighbors and friends.

If you have not read this story about regular prayer gatherings for the Who’s Your One emphasis, please take a few minutes to read it now. This is a great pattern for reaching people with the good news of Jesus!

Who is your one?
