Who's Your One?

Temple Baptist Church in Fayetteville, N.C. will be the launch pad for a nationwide series of events focused on evangelism. The “Who's Your One?” tour is scheduled to hold its debut event at Temple on Aug. 11-12.

Make plans to bring a group from your church to the 6 p.m. rally on Sunday night and be sure to register for free training sessions on Monday.

I am proud that Kelly Bullard, pastor at Temple and board member for the Biblical Recorder, is hosting this effort to equip and encourage N.C. Baptists to share the gospel more effectively.

Stories like the one above are why I urged readers in an editorial to “keep your head in the game.” I truly believe the Great Commission is a team sport, and it takes all of us working together to make disciples of all nations.

An essential element of partnership is staying up-to-date on how God is working among Southern Baptist churches, missions and ministries. The BR team is here to help by providing reliable information and inspiring stories.

As I am writing this on Tuesday evening, we are getting local news reports that a pastor at an N.C. Baptist church has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl. Keep an eye on BRnow.org for more information. Folks, these stories never get easier to report. They are gut-wrenching. We can only pray they become fewer and far between.

Our team would love to hear from you if your church is going through the CaringWell.com curriculum released this year to help congregations prevent sex abuse and care for victims. Send me an email with the story of how your church leaders and congregation are committed to making your ministry a safe place for children and other vulnerable people.
