BSC annual meeting 'arising'

Messengers and guests at the 2013 annual meeting of the Baptist State Convention in Greensboro this week totaled 1,899. Last year’s total was 1,889, and the previous year’s total was 1,857. So there is a very slight increase in the total number of people participating in the annual meeting in recent years.

Measuring instruments are not as exact when attempting to compare the spiritual atmosphere of each year’s meetings. But from my vantage point, I believe a spirit of revival is growing at a faster rate than the number of attendees. There was a powerful sense of celebration of the past, worship in the present with vision toward the future.

You can read more about the pastors’ conference and the annual meeting on BRnow.org and in next week’s edition of the Biblical Recorder.

Thank you for coming by the Biblical Recorder booth this week! It was a pleasure to make many new friends and renew fellowship with "old" friends. Also, I appreciate your willingness to help your church family stay informed on important news and information. People need to know!

Since the Christmas season is around the corner, I have a "heads up" for you. Marty Dupree in the convention’s evangelism office has a supply of outstanding Christmas tracts for you – FREE. The piece is attractive and has a powerful message of the meaning of Christmas. It is called, "The TRUE meaning of Christmas." Use them in your church to share Jesus with others during the season. Contact Marty’s office at evangelism@ncbaptist.org or call (800) 395-5102, ext. 5563. They could run out, so order yours right away.

Keep telling the story of Jesus! There are too many people in North Carolina who have no plans to go to heaven. They need directions from someone who knows the Way!
