    Blume to retire from Biblical Recorder

    Allan Blume announced Oct. 1 his plans to retire as editor-president of the Biblical Recorder after completing eight years with the North Carolina Baptist news journal. He will continue to lead the organization through May 2019, he told the Recorder’s board of directors in its fall meeting.

  • BR report introduces new staff, updated logo, website

    This year has brought several changes to the Biblical Recorder. These changes were shared during its report to North Carolina Baptist messengers Nov. 8. K. Allan Blume was elected to the position of editor/president in April. This year the paper has launched a new logo, new design for print and website brnow.org.

  • Blume appoints committee members

    Baptist State Convention (BSC) Board President Allan Blume announced the membership of several important committees during the March 6 meeting of the Baptist State Convention Executive Committee (EC) at Hollifield Leadership Center.   The Executive Committee met for a business session after an overnight retreat, which has become an annual event to enable new members to acquaint themselves with other members and with BSC staff.

  • Blume elected board chair third time

    Allan Blume, pastor of Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Boone, was elected to a rare third term as president of the board of the Baptist State Convention during the board meeting Jan. 27 at Caraway Conference Center. Blume, in his fourth year as a board member, was elected by acclamation, as was Cindy Stevens for a second term as vice president. Stevens is from Raleigh where she is wife of the pastor of Cross Culture Church.
