    New worship center honors Caraway founder Bill Jackson

    Caraway Conference Center and Camp honored its founder and first director, Bill Jackson, by naming a new worship center after him last September. Now called Jackson Hall, the old multipurpose gym was remodeled into a 300-seat worship center and includes a new stage and sound system.

    Caraway Conference Center has opened the doors of a new auditorium and meeting space named Hollifield Hall that allows an enhanced experience by guests who use the facility each year. Milton Hollifield, Baptist State Convention of North Carolina Executive Director-Treasurer, said the new facility will support the convention’s strategy of impacting lostness through disciple-making.

    Caraway expansion offers opportunity for growth

    Four new buildings plus a 9,000 square-foot auditorium that is nearly complete at Caraway Conference Center will expand the center’s ability to serve North Carolina Baptists. The auditorium sits in front of Caraway’s existing facilities. It is expected to be ready in May 2015, said Jimmy Huffman, Caraway’s director.

Jackson outdoor chapel on the grounds of Camp Caraway, there is a plaque in honor of Jackson reminding people of the purpose of Camp Caraway – to introduce children to the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 1999, when the chapel was named after Jackson, more than 6,000 boys received Christ as their Lord and Savior at Camp Caraway.
