    Exec. Committee recommends $31M budget for 2018

    The Executive Committee of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina unanimously approved a motion to recommend to the Board of Directors a $31 million Cooperative Program budget for 2018. The proposal, which came from the convention’s Budget Committee, reflects an increase of $625,000, or about two percent, over the 2017 budget.

    Samford University in Birmingham – described by many as Alabama Baptists’ “crown jewel” – will no longer receive annual budget allocations from the Alabama Baptist State Convention. As of 2018, the $3-plus million allotment for Samford will be reduced from Alabama’s budget. This was a voluntary action taken by the school.
