    Only Way Baptist Church has been rotating its “3 R’s 4 Him” outreach emphasis for the last 18 months. It’s a concept developed by Tim Morlan, pastor since 2010 of the rural, historically Native American church that is more than an hour’s drive outside the Oklahoma City area.

    Exec. Committee recommends $31M budget for 2018

    The Executive Committee of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina unanimously approved a motion to recommend to the Board of Directors a $31 million Cooperative Program budget for 2018. The proposal, which came from the convention’s Budget Committee, reflects an increase of $625,000, or about two percent, over the 2017 budget.

    Samford to withdraw from state convention funding channel

    Samford University in Birmingham – described by many as Alabama Baptists’ “crown jewel” – will no longer receive annual budget allocations from the Alabama Baptist State Convention. As of 2018, the $3-plus million allotment for Samford will be reduced from Alabama’s budget. This was a voluntary action taken by the school.

    Year-to-date contributions to Southern Baptist national and international missions and ministries received by the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Executive Committee are 5.96 percent above the year-to-date SBC Cooperative Program Allocation Budget projection and are 2.05 percent above contributions received during the same time frame last year.
