    Dakotas increase CP percentage SBC causes

    The Dakota Baptist Convention increased its giving again to the Southern Baptist Convention Cooperative Program missions and ministries – by one-half percent for 2016 – during its annual meeting. This continues CP percentage increases from 16 to 20 percent in 2014 and from 20 to 22.5 percent in 2015.

    The Dakota Baptist Convention-led outreach – with its popular giveaway of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle – gave 120 volunteers from at least 20 states and Canada 3,654 opportunities to share three-minute testimonies, up from 2,141 last year, leading to professions of faith by 513 people, up from 178 in 2013.

    As hordes of bikers attend the world’s largest motorcycle rally in the small town of Sturgis, S.D., churches of the Dakota Baptist Convention partner with Southern Baptists from across the United States to spread the gospel. The annual August event draws hundreds of thousands of bikers from around the world to this town of just over 6,600 people in South Dakota’s Black Hills.
