    Christian T. George submitted his resignation May 3 to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo. The resignation was “due to a personal moral failing,” the seminary told the Biblical Recorder June 1. George was assistant professor of historical theology and curator of the Spurgeon Library.

    Former Midwestern President Milton Ferguson dies at 89

    Milton Ferguson, 89, the second president of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS), died Dec. 21 in Kansas City, Mo., after a brief battle with cancer. Ferguson’s tenure as president at MBTS began in February 1973, and he served the seminary community in this role before retiring in 1995 at the age of 66.

    A website expected to hold the largest digitized collection on the internet of writings by famed British pastor Charles H. Spurgeon is now available. Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary launched the website on June 21. Also known as “The Spurgeon Archive,” Midwestern Seminary’s original Spurgeon Center website has been combined with spurgeon.org.

    Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s academic year concluded in celebratory fashion May 12 as graduates, families and friends gathered for the 61st commencement, launching theologically-trained gospel ministers into service. The seminary’s largest-ever graduating class of 135 students received 31 undergraduate, 82 graduate and 19 doctoral degrees and three diplomas from Midwestern Women’s Institute.
