    TV Bible series producers aim to ‘glorify God’

    The Hollywood mogul best known for producing reality television programs is behind a new production of the ultimate “reality” story – the Bible. Mark Burnett and his wife, Roma Downey, who played the angel Monica on the hit CBS show “Touched by an Angel,” are executive producers of “The Bible,” a 10-hour, five-part miniseries that began March 3, on the History Channel and will continue to air each Sunday until Easter Sunday, March 31.

    The debut of the History Channel’s “The Bible” mini-series Sunday (March 3) received mostly positive reviews from Baptist Press readers on Twitter and Facebook. Although not scientific, the feedback apparently shows that unlike most History Channel documentaries – which generally cast a skeptical eye on the truthfulness of scripture – the five-part, 10-hour miniseries has placed the Bible in a more positive light, and Christians are noticing.
