    Gay marriage, ‘faith’ spur judges to resign

    Gayle Myrick is one of at least six magistrates in North Carolina who have opted to resign rather than marry homosexual couples following a federal judge’s ruling that the state’s gay marriage ban is unconstitutional. For at least two of the magistrates, the decision to resign has brought financial hardship.

    New York churches gained a victory in the courts Feb. 29 as the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a district judge’s injunction against the city’s enforcement of a ban to keep churches from meeting for worship in public schools.
