    The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities board of directors is considering recommendations for new membership and affiliate guidelines during meetings this week, amid differences over same-sex marriage hiring policies. The regular July board meeting comes after a special task force spent nine months exploring the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities categories of affiliation.

    Most Texas Christian colleges ban guns on campus

    Starting in August, public universities in Texas must allow concealed guns on campus. Although conservative and, in some cases, Christian lawmakers championed the new “campus carry” law, most of the state’s private religious universities are opting out. So far, more than 20 private colleges say they will continue to ban guns on campus.
