    Ted Traylor

Ted Traylor, pastor of Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fla., has been named as one of the speakers for the 2015 SBC Pastors’ Conference, according to the event’s website. He has served as the pastor of Olive Baptist Church for 25 years, and also as the president of the 2004 Pastors’ Conference, first vice-president of the SBC in 2000 and president of the Florida Baptist Convention in 1995.

Traylor replaces Ben Carson as one of the conference speakers. Carson withdrew from the list of speakers after his invitation stirred controversy among Southern Baptists due to his political attachments as a 2016 Republican presidential candidate and his theological convictions as a Seventh Day Adventist.

Traylor is scheduled to speak during the June 14 evening session.
