David Crocker, Operation Inasmuch
March 12, 2010

This is the third in a

series of Updates for churches participating in the Operation Inasmuch event

all across North Carolina on April 24 and May 1, 2010. The Biblical Recorder

will be providing articles leading up to the event to help with planning,

project ideas and other helpful information.

Where you should be in your

planning as of March 13

  • All projects identified

    with Project Leaders recruited

  • Projects/volunteers

tracking process in place (use spreadsheet on Resource DVD that comes with book

    on Operation Inasmuch)

  • Date of Project Leaders

meeting (ca. 2 weeks prior to your Inasmuch) set and agenda in process

  • Promotion beginning with

video/testimonies/posters in place (more content than “Save the date”

announcements); announce sign-up period; distribute list of available projects

to membership one week prior to start of sign-ups

  • Cast a compelling vision

to your congregation of what you believe God wants to accomplish through your

    church in Inasmuch

  • Kickoff and celebration

    gatherings plans 75 percent complete

Project Idea — (for

seniors) Write letters to persons incarcerated in local jail

  • Obtain permission and do’s

and don’ts for such letter writing from sheriff or warden

  • Obtain names of

incarcerated two days prior to Inasmuch so your list is as up-to-date as

    possible

  • Gather volunteers in a

home or at church day of Inasmuch. Letters should be hand-written

  • Include encouraging

pictures from children, Bible verses, written prayers (perhaps prepared by

    different volunteers)
