Severe abdominal pains sent Norman Jameson to the emergency room Nov. 10.

After spending the day in the emergency room and undergoing numerous tests, doctors operated to try to find out the cause of his pain.

Apparently adhesions and scarring had taken place where he had his appendix removed 30 years ago.

The doctors believe had the surgery not taken place when it did that they would have had to remove part of his intestine.

He was admitted to the Wesley Long Community Hospital in Greensboro Nov. 10 where he will remain for several days.

Friends and family who saw him, before and after surgery, say he’s feeling better and the pain, while not gone, has diminished tremendously.

Jameson was in Greensboro covering the Baptist State Convention annual meeting at the Koury Convention Center.

Have you ever thought about including videos to your blog articles to keep the visitors even more entertained? What i'm saying is I just read through the whole article and it had been pretty great but since I am significantly more of a visual learner, I found that way to be significantly more helpful. well, let me know what you feel.

Take a rest Norman. Stress can eat you up, just ask Johnny Hunt. You are not a "go along to get along" guy. Your a good principled man. Get well soon.

Uh-oh, I think we're about to hear about the monkey climbing the tree... ::rollseyes:: Grow up, Gene. How is it that every comments thread becomes about you? Everyone here is wishing Norman a quick recovery and your obsession with generation-ago Baptist politics manages to rear its ugly head.

"By their deeds you shall know them" = don't have time to look it up in the NT, but it is certainly there in James' Epistle.

Wolves dressed in sheep's clothing = it's there!
Goats and sheep being separated at the gate = it's there!
Be gentle as doves and beware of snakes = it's there!
Matthew 23 = especially there when Jesus describes the Pharisees!

Mr. Scarborough,
You just choose to ignore all the facts about yourself. I will answer your question with a simple, but truthful, "I do not know." Uncertain of the facts of how Mr. Jameson was treated, I cannot make an educated response.
However, that has nothing to do with this article and that was my point. Conservatives are not of Satan as you so often find reason to imply. Not only that, you choose to use profanity and that speaks volumes about your heart. Any person of God should not use such immature speech, and any paper using the name "Biblical" should not allow such posts.

Coming home:
Thank you all for your well wishes. It looks like I will be coming home Saturday afternoon. My youngest granddaughter is being dedicated at Green Street Sunday and I wish I could go to that...here's hoping.

Norman:

Be assured of my prayers as you recover. You are in the hands of skilled physicians and other medical personnel who will take good care of you. In addition to that, you have the special care of the Great Physician who loves you more than all your family members and friends put together. May God bless you with a full and rapid recovery.

Mr. Scarborough,
You have stooped to the lowest degree in badgering Baptists you disagree with. The man has surgery and as you wish him luck (something that does not exist), you take the opportunity to throw a few stones. You seem to enjoy criticizing Christian people while you preach tolerance of those of other religions and beliefs. I do not know you but I strongly disagree with the attitude you display and I believe most of your posts should be removed. I, for one, have read enough of your trash talk and would politely ask you to reconsider what you write. Conservatives are not of Satan as you so routinely portray us.

Pain in the gut / pain in the a** = same thing!!!

To try and placate Southern Baptists in this day and age is impossible---and will send you to the hospital.

Good luck, Norman. You did your best and you deserve a distraction and strong pain medicine for the ills inflicted on you by certain Conservative leaders of the NCBSC.

At least, this time, you know exactly what inflicts the pain to you!!!

Get well soon--and have a bright future devoid of "Bapticitis!!!!"

We all pray that Norman will have a quick and complete recovery. May he appreciate anew the gift of health and life. May the directors of the Biblical Recorder realize how much they have depended on Norman to put out a quality print and digital publication.
