It’s Not Too Late

I am convinced God is calling North Carolina Baptists to become the strongest force in the history of this convention for reaching people with the message of the gospel. North Carolina Baptist churches and associations are utilizing numerous approaches to help achieve that goal. However, much work is still to be done and we must realize our personal responsibility in reaching people in this state who are spiritually lost.

This is not a responsibility you can pass along to someone else because we are all accountable to God. Sharing Christ is elementary and foundational to our purpose for existence. According to some recent surveys conducted by two separate research entities, approximately 5.5 million persons residing in North Carolina do not identify themselves as born-again believers. The Find it Here statewide evangelism emphasis for Easter will be upon us in less than three weeks.

Is it too late for your church to participate in this organized effort to reach lost persons for Christ? No. Please let us know if your church plans to join with other North Carolina Baptist churches in this effort.

It’s not too late to PRAY for your family, friends, neighbors, business associates and fellow students who need Christ. Consistently and fervently pray for them by name at home and perhaps during a special day of prayer at your church. You can still prayer walk your neighborhood or community two weeks prior to Easter. Visit the web site www.finditherenc.org, click the Prayer Tab and discover good resources to assist you and your church.

It’s not too late to INVITE your non-Christian family members, friends, neighbors and work or campus associates to Easter worship at your church. Research indicates that 84 percent of non-Christians would attend church if a friend or family member invited them. Click the Invite Tab at www.finditherenc.org for other helps.

It’s not too late for North Carolina Baptist pastors to prayerfully prepare and PREACH AN EVANGELISTIC SERMON on Easter Sunday and extend a SALVATION INVITATION.  Several resources are available on the Web site under the Preach Tab, along with a good training video entitled “Giving an Evangelistic Invitation.”

It’s not too late to plan a BAPTISMAL CELEBRATION service on Easter Sunday or the following Sunday. The Disciple Tab on the web site includes helpful suggestions to prepare for a meaningful baptism celebration. We have also provided material to help with immediate steps for new believers.

It’s not too late FOR YOUR CHURCH TO PARTICIPATE in Find it Here. However, if you wait, it may be too late for someone who needs to hear about the life-transforming message of Jesus. Think about this: if you do not attempt to reach them now, when are you planning to do it? If you do not do it, then who will?

“Go home to thy friends and tell them what great things
the Lord hath done for you…” Mark 5:19
