Impact: Compelling the Lost to Come to Life

Annual Meeting time is drawing near – ours is Nov. 14-15 – and I hope that you are already preparing your heart for what the Lord will do when we come together in Greensboro for this meeting.
The 2016 annual meeting theme is “Impact: Compelling the Lost to Come to Life,” and I am confident that the Lord will move in hearts and challenge us all to be faithful in making disciples.
I hope you are connected with our prayer effort for this annual meeting. Obtain information from and look for “Annual Meeting” and then click on it. Go to to receive daily prayer prompts by email or text “impactnc” to 313131. You can also download an excellent daily devotional prayer guide written by Chris Schofield.
Come to Greensboro early and participate in the first session of the Pastor’s Conference on Sunday evening. Invite and encourage military veterans to attend that first service as they will hear a gospel message intertwined with a personal testimony presented by Bobby Welch. Welch is an excellent preacher who is also a retired military officer whose life was miraculously spared after he was critically wounded in battle. Pray that many will be saved at that service.
Our convention president Timmy Blair will preach on Monday evening and David Platt, president of the International Mission Board (IMB) will preach during the Tuesday evening session.
Platt will challenge us to respond to the need to reach the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will also enjoy a video presentation that same night from Kevin Ezell, president of our North American Mission Board.
We must all do what we can to unite with others to reach the nations of the world with the gospel.
Together, we must intensify our prayer efforts to make an impact for Him. I pray that we will be more obedient to God’s call on all of our lives and more involved in mission efforts, whatever that may look like for each of us. Are we willing to sacrifice more for Him, and are we willing to go where God calls us to go?
As we prepare for our next annual meeting, I hope that God’s passion for the nations will melt our hearts together in order to make a significance difference.
In consideration of our own convention strategy, “Impacting Lostness Through Disciple-making,” God has shown us that this is His heart’s desire.
Truly, disciple-making and making an impact for God’s Kingdom is something that we must strive for every day, whether we are at home or abroad. I pray that God will even further burden all of our hearts, myself included, to reach the lost every day and compel the lost to come to life in Christ.

Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that My house may be filled,” Luke 14:23, NKJV.
