“Christ is in us all the time, no matter where we are or what we’re doing. To me that’s what it is to be a missionary.”

Sam James, a former missionary who served with the International Mission Board for more than 50 years, delivered the convention sermon at the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina’s annual meeting Nov. 10. He spoke on Colossians 1:24-27 and challenged messengers and guests to live as witnesses for Christ.

“We don’t just have a message. We are the message,” he said.
