THOMASVILLE, N.C. — The search for the next CEO of the Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) of North Carolina has entered the interview stage, according to an update from the team tasked with finding the organization’s next leader.
An email sent to supporters and friends of the ministry on Thursday, July 11, said the BCH’s Transition and Search Committee has conducted multiple interviews with prospective candidates.
“We have interviewed and researched multiple well-qualified candidates and have additional future interviews planned,” BCH Transition and Search Committee Chairman David Powell wrote in the email. “The committee just met for a two-hour meeting to continue our discussions and evaluations to narrow the field of candidates.”
The email did not indicate how many candidates had been interviewed or give a timeframe for next steps in the search process.
The committee has been receiving applications for the CEO position since March through an online portal hosted by Vanderbloemen Search Group, which is assisting BCH in the search process. Vanderbloemen is a Texas-based firm that specializes in working with churches, ministries, nonprofits and other faith-based organizations in conducting searches for executive leaders.
In the email, Powell, who also serves as pastor of Lovedale Baptist Church in Sylva, N.C., asked for continued prayer during the search process.
“Throughout this process, we have been humbled by the enormity of this task and are committed to God’s guidance,” Powell wrote. “We earnestly ask for your continued prayers as we seek a servant leader with a clear vision for the future of the ministry. Our confidence remains in God’s timing and provision.”
