Job Description:
The Associate Pastor of Connections will offer opportunities that help people to “plug in” and connect to our Church in three primary ways that point them toward a personal relationship with Christ: to each other (in small groups/Sunday School), to ministry (through service opportunities), and to the Church (through fellowship opportunities).
The Associate Pastor of Connections responsibilities include:
• Assist newcomers and help them connect to the life of the church. • Oversee, train, and recruit Welcome Team volunteers and Ushers and Greeters.
• Cultivate effective pathways for all members of the church to connect with others and grow in their faith.
• Oversee the Christian education and small group life of the church to seek to create an atmosphere of discipleship. This includes evaluation and approval of study materials, ensuring they reflect our Statement of Faith.
• Recruit and train new Sunday School and Small Group Leaders. • Help in identifying and developing people’s gifts to encourage the congregation in areas of ministry and missions including surveys, questionnaires, etc.
• Be a staff liaison for the Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Senior Adult Ministry, and other adult ministry groups.
• Share in pastoral care alongside the Senior Pastor such as referrals and counseling (per our policy), visiting hospitals, aiding in worship services, and performing other services as delegated by the pastor.
Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 a year.
