Flat Rock Baptist Church, Louisburg, NC, is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Director.
Purpose: To lead our Flat Rock Baptist Church Children’s Ministries programs. (Birth to 5th
grade)
Reports to: Pastor
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Work to establish a program for evangelism and discipleship within the Children’s
Ministries that works in conjunction with the overall vision and ministry of Flat Rock
Baptist Church. - Lead, recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the Children’s Ministries.
- Strive to implement a strategy for whole-family discipleship; working with families to
equip and empower parents/families to disciple their children. - Provide oversight and planning for all aspects of Children’s and Preschool Ministry
programming, including:
- Sunday morning service (Children’s Church)
- Evening service (occasionally needed)
- Wednesday evening service to include AWANA’s
- Sunday School
- Outreach events (work with Outreach Committee and their planned events)
- Plan family events/programming on a quarterly basis
- Coordinate the planning of activities (such as VBS) with church organizations
- Curriculum selection for Children’s Ministry
Secondary:
- Work as a team player with the rest of the ministerial and support staff. This includes
making every effort to attend all staff functions (i.e. – staff meetings, retreats, planning
sessions, etc.) - Share in the responsibility of ministerial responsibilities to children and preschoolers and
their families, including, but not limited to:
- Hospital visits
- Leadership at certain church events
- Make efforts to attend children’s functions (i.e. – ballgames, plays, birthdays, etc.)

Understand the love of Jesus Christ first and most importantly, based on Scripture, and have a
close personal relationship with Him. Live a life that strives for personal discipleship, personal
holiness, faithfulness and loyalty to family, a peaceful temperament, biblical and doctrinal
soundness, and financial responsibility.
Always exhibit an energetic, positive attitude and display good leadership skills while working
as a team member with the Church staff and the Church family.
Participate in other programs and activities in conjunction with the Church staff and
congregation, as necessary, and provide support to these programs and activities, including
outreach ministries.
