Flat Rock Baptist Church, Louisburg, NC is seeking a part-time Youth Minister.

Position Summary:
Youth Minister will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive Youth
Ministry that promotes the spiritual growth of the Youth and Children in the Church and community while building relationships with the Youth, Children, Parents and Volunteers of the Ministry.

Youth Minister relationship shall be as follows:

1. Qualifications shall be the same as for the Pastor and shall be an ex-officio member of all
   organizations, departments, and committees relating to the position’s responsibilities. He
   may not serve as a voting member of these entities except as otherwise provided in the
   bylaws.
2. Is not to be absent from any regular scheduled services without consent, unless providentially hindered.
3. When the Pastor is absent or unable to fill the pulpit, a Family Life/Youth Minister who meets all the requirements can assume that responsibility with approval of Deacons.
4. Will assist the Pastor in ministering to the spiritual life of the church and community. He is to cooperate and work under the supervision of the Pastor.
5. Will consult with Youth and Children’s committee to set the direction for these programs.
6. Shall be supervised and report to the Pastor.

Personal Responsibilities:
Understand the love of Jesus Christ first and most importantly based on Scripture and have a close
personal relationship with Him. Live a life that strives for personal discipleship, personal holiness,
faithfulness and loyalty to family, a peaceful temperament, biblical and doctrinal soundness, and
financial responsibility.

Always exhibit an energetic, positive attitude and display good leadership skills while working as a
team member with the Church staff and the Church family.

Participate in other programs and activities in conjunction with the Church staff and congregation, as necessary and provide support to these programs and activities, including outreach ministries.

Ministerial Responsibilities:
Provide sound Biblical teaching in addition to practical application studies for the Youth and Young
Adults.

Develop, plan, lead and coordinate weekly Bible Study or small group opportunities for Youth and
Young Adults to participate in. These Bible Study or Small Group opportunities should be engaging for all youth and young adults.

Plan and promote participation in regular scheduled Worship Services.

Plan and promote participation in seasonal activities, social activities, fellowships, retreats, banquets, etc. for the Youth and Young Adults in co-ordination with other Church ministries.

Identify, encourage and utilize skills offered by Church members (parents/volunteers) who are
dedicated to these ministries and incorporate these volunteers into leadership positions in Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

Communicate with Youth, Young Adults, Parents and Volunteers on a regular basis to provide
awareness about upcoming events, worship opportunities, trips, outreach events and mission activities for the Youth and Young Adults.

Provide counsel to the Youth, Young Adults and their Caregivers as needed.

Administrative Responsibilities:
Develop monthly goals for the Youth and Young Adults Ministries and provide monthly updates to
the Pastor regarding progress on achieving the agreed to goals.

Serve as a member and work with the Youth Ministry and Children’s Program Committee in planning and coordinating the yearly activity calendar for Youth.

Responsible for training and implementation of the Flat Rock Baptist Church Child Protection Policy.

Prepare and submit the annual budget request for the Youth and Young Adult’s Ministries to the
Stewardship Committee and maintain all accounts within approved budget guidelines.

Assure proper care of facilities used in conjunction with Youth and Young Adult’s programs and
activities.

Job Requirements:
This position forever directly affects and influences the spiritual lives of our Youth and Young
Adult’s. Therefore, the Youth Minster must always exhibit Godly morals and ethical conduct in all
situations. This person must feel a personal call by God to the Ministry and be led by God to serve
Flat Rock Baptist Church and act as a spiritual leader for the Children, Youth and Adults in the
Church and community.

1. Be a born-again believer with a maturing relationship with Christ.
2. Graduate of College and Seminary (or currently enrolled in Seminary program)
3. Experience and training in Youth Ministry preferred.
4. Must be sensitive to the needs and pressures of teens with knowledge of possible solutions.
5. Evidence of maturity, interpersonal and leadership skills as well as organization and
   communication skills.
6. Ability to provide a Christian witness to the Church and community with the goal of unsaved
   persons accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
7. Possess a positive attitude with the Children, Youth, and the Church membership.
8. Commitment to confidentiality as it relates to the Church membership and to the Church
   organizational operation.
9. Be able to exercise initiative and judgment to be an independent worker, possessing
   organizational and administrative abilities.
10. Be able to respond to changing needs throughout the daily and weekly schedule.
11. Work toward achieving the objective of Flat Rock Baptist Church while following the
    Constitution, Bylaws, the Child Protection Policy of the Church, and Personnel Policy.
