1. The 194th annual meeting of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina takes place Nov. 4-5 at the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
2. “On Mission Together” is the meeting theme for the fourth consecutive year. The supporting Scripture passage is Matthew 20:26-28, which reads: “…But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (ESV).
3. This year’s meeting coincides with Election Day on Nov. 5 and features a streamlined schedule that does not include a Tuesday evening session. With the change, this year’s meeting is scheduled to adjourn at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
4. Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, will deliver this year’s convention sermon as part of a special joint missions Sending Celebration between N.C. Baptists and the International Mission Board on Monday evening, Nov. 4.
5. N.C. Baptist President Allen Murray, pastor of Centerville Baptist Church in Kelly, is scheduled to deliver the president’s address to messengers on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 9:20 a.m. Executive Director-Treasurer Todd Unzicker is scheduled to share his annual address at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
6. Messengers will consider a $31 million Cooperative Program budget proposal for 2025 at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, as a fixed order of business.

8. Messengers will consider some proposed changes to the state convention’s articles and bylaws that primarily deal with providing greater clarity to the N.C. Baptist executive-director treasurer search process. The proposed changes also remove a restriction that currently prevents N.C. Baptists whose personal residence is across state lines from serving on various boards, committees and elected offices of the state convention.
9. Breakout sessions led by pastors, ministry leaders, church practitioners, N.C. Baptist staff and others on practical aspects of ministry are scheduled for two different time slots over the course of the meeting. Breakouts are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 4 at 3:30 p.m., and Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m.
10. Be sure to check out the exhibits from N.C. Baptists and other ministries and vendors in both the Guilford and Imperial exhibit halls. Exhibit hall hours are from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
