The inauguration of Jamie Dew as president of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary took place Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. in Leavell Chapel.

Dew became the ninth president of the Southern Baptist seminary in June 2019. He was formerly dean of The College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.

Seminary activities this week to celebrate Dew’s inauguration included missions and evangelism projects across New Orleans. More than 300 faculty, staff and student participants worked in teams throughout the city and reported that at least three people came to faith in Christ. 

Dew spoke to participants before the projects began. “I submit myself to you and the churches of the Southern Baptist Convention to be your and their servant,” he said. “With Christ, I call you into that with me.”
