CARY, N.C. — Kevin Qualls, vice president of development for the Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) of North Carolina, is joining Provision Financial Resources of N.C. Baptists as executive vice president of Provision Ministry Impact Strategies.
Provision made the announcement in a press release on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
In the newly created role, Qualls will “lead Provision’s efforts in mobilizing resources to advance its ability to support NC Baptist churches and ministries,” the announcement said. Qualls will begin his new role at Provision on Nov. 11.
“Kevin has a proven track record in ministry leadership and a commitment to helping churches and donors align for the greatest Kingdom impact” said Harry Nelson, CEO of Provision Financial Resources. “Supporting NC Baptist ministries and churches is central to our mission at Provision. We are eager to have Kevin on board and look forward to his help in strengthening our relationship with these important constituencies.”
Qualls served in pastoral roles at churches in North and South Carolina for 22 years before joining Christian Adoption Services (CAS) as president in 2016. The Baptist Children’s Homes acquired Christian Adoption Services in 2020, about a year after the two organizations entered into an official partnership. Following the merger, CAS continued to operate under the BCH umbrella.
Qualls continued to oversee CAS until February 2022 when he became director of development for CAS and young leader relations with BCH before recently being promoted to BCH’s vice president of development in April.
Provision’s announcement said Qualls possesses “decades of leadership experience and a deep commitment to growing ministry partnerships,” adding that during his tenure at BCH and CAS, Qualls “spearheaded significant growth, expanding the organizations’ reach and impact in supporting families and children.”
In Provision’s announcement, Qualls expressed his enthusiasm for the new position.
“I am honored to join Provision Financial Resources as we continue to empower ministries and churches to fulfill their missions,” Qualls said. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and furthering the work of God’s Kingdom through financial stewardship and mobilizing resources.”
Qualls holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Gardner-Webb University and a master of divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing a doctor of ministry degree from Southeastern.
Qualls is an active member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, N.C. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kim, and their three adult children.
Todd Unzicker, executive director-treasurer of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, also welcomed Qualls’ appointment.
“Kevin Qualls is a respected leader among NC Baptists, and I’m thrilled he will have expanded influence in mobilizing resources to support NC Baptist churches and ministries,” Unzicker said. “We have a great partnership with Provision, and I look forward to the impact Kevin will have in this new role.”
