The 2022 Southern Baptist Convention Calendar of Activities has been released with some significant changes. The update comes after a meeting of key leaders in the fall of 2020 and approval by the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Executive Committee (EC) in the spring of 2021.
“The SBC Calendar of Activities for 2022 represents a new way for Southern Baptists to celebrate the work of each and every member throughout the year,” said Jonathan Howe, vice president of communications with the SBC EC.
The calendar highlights monthly emphases on issues such as discipleship, evangelism, missions, the Cooperative Program and more.
“The new monthly emphasis structure allows a church of any size the freedom to customize how they celebrate and encourage members to participate in the month’s emphasis,” Howe said.
New events such as the George Liele Church Planting, Evangelism, and Missions Sunday on Feb. 6 remain on the calendar as do staple events like the week of prayer for North American Missions and Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (March 6-13), Disaster Relief Sunday (June 5), and the week of prayer and mission study for international missions and the Lottie Moon Christmas offering (Dec. 4-11).
The calendar was reported to the messengers at the 2021 SBC annual meeting. It can be downloaded here.
