In a video posted by Biltmore Church in Arden, N.C., Savannah Nair talks about how she survived bone cancer, suffered family tragedy, fell into alcoholism and eventually trusted Christ.

“I had this emptiness I was trying to fill, and I had a relationship with alcohol, and every day I thought it would be different, but it never was. And then it was just me and the bottle for a few years,” she said.

“Three years ago, I was sitting on my bed and I felt this desperation that I just didn’t want it anymore. That was the moment I completely surrendered.”

Nair is a member at Biltmore’s East Asheville campus.
