Ronnie Parrott, pastor of Christ Community Church in Huntersville, N.C., interviewed Kevin Smith, executive director-treasurer at the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, about how churches can begin to address racism among their ranks.

“Christians should come into a conversation [about racism] from the scripture,” Smith said. “And let me say what I’m specifically saying, coming in from the scripture is saying I’m not coming into this conversation from Fox, CNN or MSNBC. I’m not coming into this conversation from the morning email from the Democrats or Republicans.

“I’m coming into this conversation from the scripture as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
